Public Notice: Impact of Federal Government Shutdown on SNAP Benefits

Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown and suspension of federal funding, November SNAP benefits will not be issued unless federal funding is restored.

Aitkin County staff is working diligently to process as many applications as possible before this suspension of SNAP issuance takes effect.

You may still submit a SNAP application during this time. County staff will continue to accept applications, gather required verifications, and conduct interviews so cases can be processed once funding resumes.

We recognize the hardship this may cause and are committed to providing timely updates as the situation evolves. For local food resources, please visit: Find Food Aitkin County.

For ongoing updates, visit Federal shutdown information | Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families.
