Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown and suspension of federal funding, all new and pending applications for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits have been frozen effective October 16, 2025. November SNAP benefits will not be issued until federal funding is restored.

Aitkin County staff worked diligently to process as many applications as possible before the shutdown took effect.

You may still submit a SNAP application during this time. County staff will continue to accept applications, gather required verifications, and conduct interviews so cases can be processed once funding resumes.
